Some dogs require more grooming than others but all will benefit from being clean, tidy and sweet smelling. If your dog sheds hairs around your home then this can be dramatically reduced by regular grooming and de-shedding treatments.
We will book your dog in shortly before his groom is scheduled so he can relax and take in the surroundings. Our full groom includes full brush and comb through, removal of minor matting, bathing in appropriate luxury shampoo and conditioner using our special massaging bathing system, hand-drying, clip, scissor and style - all to the highest of standard. Handstripping is also available. We will also trim nails and clear hair from the pads, clean and check your dogs ears and remove excess ear hair. We want to ensure that the experience is as pleasureable as possible for your pet so we include lots of cuddles and encouragement throughout the process.

As well as a full groom we also offer a bathe and brush up inbetween grooming appointments to help you keep your pet in tip top condition. Nail clipping can often be done without the need for an appointment. Please call us to discuss your styling needs. Prices are dependant on the breed of dog, condition and coat and style required.

F.A.Q.
How long does it take to groom my dog
?

On average a groom takes 2.5 hours though if your dog is very large or has a very thick coat this can take longer. When you book with us we will let you know how long we expect your pooch's spa appointment to be.

Do you just groom pedigree dogs?
No! Some of our most favourite customers are a gorgeous almagamation of various breeds :) You don't have to have a pedigree to look fabulous. We groom them according to coat type and your required 'look'. We enjoy advising and finding a groom to suit all.

Are you trained?
Absolutely. There are many places to train how to be a dog groomer & Debbie chose the best, gaining City and Guilds accreditation and distinctions! Ultimately though we groom your dog to how YOU want her groomed and will adapt our methods to suit you.

Can I stay with my dog?
You can if you want but to be honest dogs tend to behave much better with Mummy or Daddy out of the room! If your dog can see you he will spend a lot of his time trying to get to you. We are experienced at handling all kinds of breeds & characters. In the unlikely event there is a problem we will call you straight away.

How often does my dog need grooming?
This depends on what breed your dog is and style you want your dog to have. Typically every 4-8 weeks for styled dogs. In between grooms it is important that you continue to brush regularly to avoid matts and tangles.

My dog just needs a bath and a pedicure, not a full groom - do you do this?
Of course. Many of our doggy customers come to us between full grooms for a freshen up, and doggie face pack beauty treatment is very fashionable. We carry many nail varnish colours which are especially made for your dog.....some come to us because they have rolled in something unpleasant too! Beauty bathes start from £20 and standby appointments are often available.

My dog's coat is very matted, why has this happened?
Some breeds have coats that are very high maintenance and if not brushed regularly form mats. Mats can be very difficult to remove and left untouched can cause your dog great discomfort by pulling on his skin or becoming infected. A matted dog is a prisoner in its own fur. We do not charge for the removal of light mats but if your dog is heavily matted it will take us extra time to remove them which will incur an extra charge. It may not be possible to remove the mats without shaving your dog but we will do all we can to avoid this. If your dog does need to be shaved we  will of course speak to you before doing this. We will then help you make sure that your dog does not get matted again.

Will you put my dog in a cage?
For safety reasons and to comply with the Animal Welfare Act we cannot let your pooch run about in the shop, so we do have pens where he can curl up and watch what is going on in the salon. At no point will your dog be out of our sight. Most of the time though your dog will be having his groom with us.  He will however be secured at all times.

Do I have to make an appointment?
Yes please! We get booked up well in advance especially during the summer months and at Christmas. It is always best to make another appointment as you leave the salon - just like you do at the hairdressers! Although our appointment books are happily quite full we will always try to be as accommodating as possible - just ask :)

What happens if I can't make my appointment?
We understand that these  things happen but please give us 24 hours notice to cancel your booking or we will be stood there twiddling our thumbs wondering where you are. There is a £20 charge for all appointments not honoured where the customer has not given us 24 hours notice.

What is handstripping?
Handstripping is the traditional process of removing the loose coat from wire haired breeds allowing the coat to lie neat once more and for new growth to come through. Not all coats are suitable for handstripping - especially if they have been previously clipped. Before agreeing to strip your dog's coat it is important that we meet your dog to see if it is possible.

If your dog has fleas
please let us know and we will use a special medicated shampoo to kill them. Nasty creatures!

If you have any other questions please do ask?
